Finally ready for sea... (link)

I have spent the last month on the hard inside at Branford Landing in Branford CT. redoing the teak decks, the bottom and standing rigging. I am not sure who is more surprised, the crew at Branford Landing or myself for actually finishing on time.

Anyway, Malaya is now ready for sea and as soon as weather permits from Saturday on we head south to her winter home in Stuart Fl.

This whole refit project would not have happened with out the help of some outstanding folks and they all deserve a big Thank You.

The crew and owner (Chris Anderson) at Branford Landing. They handled us with care, left us alone to get our work done and supported us when we needed help. Thanks guys.

Rob at American Rigging Supply, Rob furnished all our new running and standing rigging, winches, stoppers, whisker pole and furling unit. He sent an e-mail and told me things had been shipped. They arrived almost before I read the e-mail. I don't think there was more than 2 days from the time I ordered stuff until until it began arriving. Everything was as ordered the first time around. Thanks Rob!

Local marine suppliers to the boat yard in Conn also did well, they put up with my ordering the wrong stuff and returning it without question.

So thanks to all for helping us get 2 months worth of work done in 30 days!

See ya all along the waterway!
