A quote from an LA Times Sports article online, where the writer, Pete Thomas, is talking about how she has completed her "sea trial" and is getting set to leave on her voyage soon:
"I'm not sure sailing on a pink vessel is a safe choice for the Watson team, as it will announce to other mariners the presence of the fairer sex."
Um, is this guy saying what he seems to be saying? She may be too young, but what, was he born in 1853 or something? I guess she should have one of those inflatable "man dolls" in the cockpit in order to fool people...
For Pete's sake. Of all the potential dangers, somehow rapists looking for pink boats as a sign of "the fairer sex" seems like the least of her concerns. Maybe Ellen MacArthur should change her name to "Allen" (not to say she and Jessica are in the same league, but honestly!)
