The proper way to store guns is to:

1. Load them.

2. Make sure the safety is off.

3. Place them in the locker with the barrel pointed out.

4. Run thin monofilament fishing line from an eye at the back of the cabinet and through the trigger guard of each, making sure that the cable is wrapped several times around the trigger.

That way, if anyone breaks into your boat and tries to yank a gun out of the locker... end of problem.
