Sorry to report the passing of Gene Evans, a fine sailor, friend and videographer. He passed away peacefully sometime on Monday, Oct 12.

Many years ago he was doing filming for the movies in Hollywood, got the wanderlust, got a boat and with his wife sailed south through Mexico, to the Cocos Islands then on to the Galapagos and back to California.

A number of our friends watched his video, “600 Days to Cocos Island” over and over as an inspiration for their travels.

We met him when we made a stop in La Paz Mexico, where he and his new wife Aggie were living aboard his newest boat Wanderlust.
