10' foot and I did fly it loose down on the Gulf last winter, but it seemed kind of sloppy that way. The only other one I've sailed extensively was a bolt rope foot and I suppose I just got used to that.

I have two of these sails, one slightly heavier than the other and guess I could do one of each and see what works best.
