Hi Mark,
I was hoping with my delivery work pretty much non-existent at the moment, perhaps this would be a year I might be able to head south relatively early, and maybe try to make it down to the Eastern Caribbean. If I can get going by early December, and the weather looks favorable, I might try to head for the Virgins...
But, more likely is probably another trip down the coast, and a few months in the Bahamas - that would still be fine with me, I really loved my cruise down there last winter, and there's still plenty more for me to see and do down there...
And, there's still a chance I may not head south at all. If that happens, I'll still try to bail out of here for the worst of the winter, perhaps do a cruise of the Chesapeake and North Carolina, maybe spend a few weeks in a place like Beaufort...
During the various parties during the Annapolis Show, I ran into a lot of cruisers who are already on their way south, a few headed to the Bahamas, a few more signed up for the Caribbean 1500. It amazes me all these people are able to get it all together to have known for so long what they are doing, and are already well on their way... Hell, I rarely know where I'm headed on a cruise until the night before I leave... (grin)
I know that won't work for most people, of course, but I've never been too comfortable talking too much about trips in advance, and all the best cruises I've ever had have been those where I've been primarily just winging it, and letting the weather dictate my choices...
best regards,
Jon
