A humpback gave birth right in front of a boat he was driving, and he hopped in the water and started filming. Very cool video, which he later sold and it has been professionally produced somewhere. I saw the raw footage. At one point a large male came right up to him and gave him a sonar POP. It seemed to be considering tearing him in half, and he was scared. Up until that moment, it had not really occurred to him that what he was doing was a really bad idea. He's not clueless, just was excited.

He has one of three permits from the Dominican Republic to run humpback whale encounters on the Silver Banks, and my wife and I are going next season.
