They dry quickly, clean pretty easily, and the foam doesn't get "sponge" full of water. The mesh is okay on bare skin -- It's not silk or ultrasuede. We have sunbrella covered cushions for a deck at home. They dont' dry very quickly; and, in my opinion, you'd have a hard time putting them below wet without having to worry about mildew.
I wouldn't get any color unless you don't sail in warm areas or have the cushions in direct sunlight -- you'll find them a lot hotter. Think of your non-skid and compare even a "grey" to the white in the summer sun on bare feet. I know people use them but they're a lot hotter and you need a towel to keep from being burned if you try to lay on one after it's been "baking" in the sun.
