and open it up for the ham bands. Its not a diode snip with the 710.. needs a cloning cable .. people selling it to you should be able to do it. As far as I know it is legal to operate a marine HF on ham frequencies but not strictly legal to go the other way. If the legality doesn't bother you get a 706 or similar and do a diode snip to get on the marine bands.
