that left on Sunday and got to Turtle ahead of most of the storm. The SWYC boats I know of went to Ensenada and restarted on Thursday with us. Many San Quintin boats restarted Wednesday morning and probably had an exciting sail between the 40kt gusts (except for the one that sank ;) ). So the storm was not as severe as originally forecast; just a bunch of torn sails and broken gear as a result. 10-12 foot seas, 30 kts gusting to 40 would probably have been OK (in hindsite); not as severe or as lengthy as predicted.
