We've pretty much given up...

You know, Lee Chesneau, former NWS weather forecaster, is always so passionate about the work that goes into interpreted text NWS forecasts before they get released. The number of times the NWS forecast has been wrong has made us pretty much ignore it at this point. It's sad really - between wave height forecasts usually being off by over 50% and wind forecasts being off by more. We've been caught in too many 30kt+ blows with 6-10 footers when 15-20 with 3-5 footers was the forecast. On the other hand, it's pushed us towards learning to read and interpret raw weather data ourselves, but we still mostly use passageweather.com and sailflow.com.
