Yeah, I know, easy to say sitting here at my desk without knowing all the details, blah, blah, blah... But, it really is stunning, the seemingly cavalier manner in which some of these boats are being abandoned along the shoulder of Interstate ARC... Perhaps the guy was on the satphone immediately, coordinating a salvage effort out of the Cape Verdes, who knows? But, to abandon a boat in Force Four conditions basically because a rope got wrapped around the prop, wow... Ahh, well, perhaps we'll get to see how well that steel hull holds up - compared to the J-44 abandoned on that route - when it eventually washes up somewhere in the Lesser Antilles...

I think bernie and I should start a joint business venture, we'll call it the ARC-CS... The "CS" will stand for "Concierge Service", and the fleet will be shadowed by a Dockwise-style support vessel that will offer at-sea refueling, wifi, and a complete inventory of watermaker replacement parts... Being a Dockwise ship, of course, it can readily be dispatched to pick up any stragglers... bernie himself will be aboard to serve as host, so the partying can begin long before the arrival in St. Lucia... (grin)
