It's quite adequate in power. I would say more then enough but is that ever true. I wouldn't want much less.
I think too when looking you have to decide what kind of cruising you're going to do and what about parts. I know JD ships world wide. Is this actually a JD engine or a remanufacture? Will you be able to put the right parts on it like a starter alternator of your choice, etc or will JD hide any info that lets you "shop" for parts.
Don't get me wrong. I grew up in Iowa and JD was always highly thought of.
Good that you asked here and I do hope you get Bud T's advise. Good also to find similar boats similar weights and see what they have and how they power them.
