THe new one is 18v but lighter weight with the smaller batts and newer design. Plenty of torque, I like it though time will tell if the unit is as bullet proof as my old one. The old one was rebuilt once, I did five years of house remodel and a lot of boat work with that unit. Thousands of shi..uh, sheet rock screws went in with that old unit.
