Thanks for the correspondence with Max Fletcher.

Please tell Max I also enjoyed and feel privileged to have sailed so many times with the Fletcher family. Abbot was also kind enough to let me cruise MAJEK Down East with Fred H. when not racing.

One memory I have is a race down to Camden when off the coast between Mosquito to Two Bush Islands after midnight the wind went light. Max and I think Judy jibed the spinnaker at the rate of about once a minute chasing the fluky air for most of a watch, working through and leaving the much lighter/low wetted surface, IOR type boats around MAJEK well behind. As you know, MAJEK kept winning the GMORA season trophies year after year.

Max also used SCHUSS, my Thistle, as a commuting vehicle between the two Harpswell peninsulas to teach sailing across the bay from the Fletcher summer cottage.
