..for long periods of time. My friend who rigs his sailing version with line to do this likes the feet inside and close to the coffee pot. This boat has a bit of broad beam so perhaps more buoyancy aft than some but power squat...etc. does concern me. One bennie of the central steering is nothing to occlude the cockpit as a pedestal would do making it a clear passage from bow to stern save for the ladder.
If I didn't need the quarterberth area below I'd put a footwell on the side and have a forward facing comfy seat there as so many power cruisers do. I've time to think about it and figure to wait to the last minute to decide since either way I go can be done at any time. I avoided inside steering for space below and because I like to be out in the weather a bit, to be a part of the world around. It is one of the things I appreciate about boating. Nonetheless I'll have a bimini top over the cockpit as the sun gets to be a lot the two days it shines here.
