...it was really quite tame, could hardly feel the effect of the Stream at all - although I suspect the flow had been diminished somewhat by the prolonged period of northerlies over the previous week or more... It's a pity the word "northwest" has to include "north", so many people immediately dismiss the possibility of crossing as soon as they hear that syllable... (grin)

Still, sailing basically DDW, it was a rock and roll special... the most uncomfortable point was within about 10 miles of coming onto the bank, when the breeze fell off to 12-15 knots or so for a bit, started to get some slatting and such... All too often, we forget that wind is our FRIEND, as long as it's blowing the right direction... (grin)
