Two good articles today about the sinking of Concordia

for anyone interested in this. I'm finding it quite fascinating to read the details of this story.

Unanswered Questions About The Sinking
'Modern, steel-hulled, recently inspected ships aren't supposed to fall over and sink in bad weather'

Woodenboat forum also has a very interesting discussion thread on the sinking, with lots of very insightful comments by a naval architect and expert on square-rigged ships. The outcome of the investigation into the sinking ought to be interesting. As someone said elsewhere, the ability of the crew to extract everyone alive is similar to the feat of the pilot who landed the airplane on the Hudson not long ago. http://www.woodenboat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=110145 (Thanks, Andrew, for the link.)
