I don't see why some people make a big deal about the documentation process or encourage boat purchasers to use some kind of a service to do the paperwork. I don't recall the exact date I filled out the form and sent it in, but I'm pretty sure it was less than 3 weeks ago and the new documentation arrived in today's mail. I even made a mistake and miscalculated tha amount of money to send. About a week ago, a gal from the documentation office called me, explained my mistake and let me pay another $8 over the phone with a credit card and today, I have the documentation in hand.
Why on earth do people pay a service a bunch of money to fill out a one page form and mail it in for them? This is the 3rd time I've dealt with the documentation office. Twice now I've purchased a documented boat and once I converted a state registered boat to Coast Guard documentation and it's been quick and painless each time.
