How do insurers handle a claim when the repairer goes bankrupt?

Our boat was in a yard for repair. When the work was about 95% done, the yard went bankrupt. I had paid the yard for all the work (which the policy requires) , but am left paying about $5000 for finishing, trucking back to the water and launching, mast install etc.

Insurer says that is not his problem.

I reckon he should pay for the actual cost to me of the repair, which led to me being in a yard that let me down.

What is normal practice?
