The chart plotter function should work when you at the dock or anchor -- not speed dependeent, except possibly in the course-up mode?

If you have fluxgate compass that will output a heading in NMEA 183 sentences, then you should be getting some information over that interface (assuming that your chartplotter can dsiplay other input information (like depth and wind direction, just as "info")?
