..and the tank is built in, how long can or should it stay in the tank without pumping? I'm thinking what if there's no pump out nearby and you end up leaving the boat for some time or in my case, pulling the boat and taking it home. How do folks deal with that?

As you might tell, I've never had a boat with a holding tank.
