Smoke detector 
In Response To: What standard did he use? I don't know if there's an ABYC or other one that requires this.

() I guess the standard is whatever the surveyor writes up. Not that I am adverse to having a smoke detector; I have detectors for everything else. I sent him and email so we'll see what he says.
