Block Island

A week and a half after picking Esmeralde up from Wayfarer Marine in Camden ME ( 31.5 hours door to door 230 miles!) we are back home and enjoying a lovely weekend here in RI. First I have to thank the people at Wayfarer, big project this past winter, on budget, on time and the quality of the work exceeded my expectations. People who know me know that No one exceeds my expectations. Nicest experience I have ever had at a yard.
Anyway the boat is great and we are in early. We are getting ready for another Newport to Bermuda race, double-handed division and we registered for the Figawi just to see what that is all about.
With the boat in such fine shape we decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and sail to Block Island today. The only time we have been here with fewer boats was a mid November weekend when we where alone! There are about ten boats in the harbor this evening and it is truly beautiful. Soon the anchorage will be packed but tonight it is ours.
