Well, at least at the edges. The drop from the cockpit seat level to the hatch seat level is rather fixed at 5/8 inch. The replacement hatches will stand proud about 3/32, but I can live with that. If I'd used plywood, I would have sealed the upper surface with a coat of resin, and put at least one layer of cloth on the lower surface. With the new hatches, the lower surface is just bare cloth over the foam. I may paint that surface someday... Not a high priority, and the current status shows the construction. On a re-do, I'd probably use 1/2 inch ply and 3/16" (finished) teak. I'd shim the hinges to bring them up above seat level.
