I see by searching further that there was also a Luders 21... maybe that was it... it seemed a bit long for a 16 footer, but the shape and overhangs and that cabin top do look about right.

The one I saw was in bristol shape and well sailed... it was a joy to watch as we went by on the way to the slip. Nice seeing boats handled like that.

As an aside, I watched a motorless Ultimate 20 get backed down a fairway Saturday night by a very competent sailor... he backwinded the main and took that boat straight down the narrow fairway and right to his raft up spot along side 2 other small boats... it was done with such confidence and poise, it too was sheer pleasure to watch.
I truly admire such boat handling.
