And they will stop fishing to look for something they will never find so they can strip some electronics of it which they can flog for a few hundred bucks at the next Reunion car boot sale... doesn't sound too cost effective to me....

Do you reckon the Sunderlands will refund everyones 11c when they realise the idea of searching for and recovering the the yacht is never going to happen.

That said it may turn up on some far off shore. In the 70's a British ship , the 'Heythrop' , had a fire and was abandoned off the South African coast. Several years later one of her lifeboats turned up in Albany Harbour, Western Australia, ... they reckon it had done a couple of circumnavigations in the meantime.....
