... and we don't even watch DVD's on the laptop anymore, although I do keep the PLANET EARTH special series on DVD in case we hit some extended bad weather, but haven't watched it in 2 years. If you haven't seen that series you really should rent it. It's incredible.

BTW we do watch TV at home, selectively. Never in real-time -- always using TIVO so we can control time. TIVO is a convenience that is really worthwhile -- it makes TV tolerable by allowing you to time-shift and skip the endless commercials.
