We fly back on Tuesday.

Taking a van from Mario's Marina to Guatemala City on Sunday morning, spending a couple of days in Guatemala city and then flying back late Tuesday.

Interesting part of being in Guatemala is their laws regarding pets. They let our cat 'Boo' in with no problem (didn't care). Now that we're leaving we have to get an export permit. Have to go to three places including the US Embassy to get all the paperwork done. US doesn't care but I can't get on the plane without a ton of paperwork, and,,, get this,,, they don't even want to see the cat. There's a vet here that will do all the running around for $225.00.

What a bureaucratic scam. Total cost for getting a 20 year old cat back to the states including the airline cut is over #300.00.

She's not coming back. If she's still alive when we're about to return I think I'll kill her. (na,,, I don't know what I'll do) She's really old and we don't think that she'll handle the travel much more.
