The place where I work has several businesses besides Dutchman, one being Sound Sailing Center that charters boats and books memberships. The diesel in one of our Pearson 37s seized up last week. Not being able to find a suitable used diesel, we decided to take advantage of our new electric motor dealership and do our first install on this boat. I'll take photos as the job progresses and post them here.
Our guys are busy commissioning a new Hanse 430 (another business) and have only had time to remove the old engine and transmission so far. Still to be done is to remove the batteries and fuel tank and get rid of all the peripheral hoses and such. The li-ion batteries we're going to use aren't ready yet, so we're going to toss in four AGMs that we have in the shop. They will most likely go where the fuel tank is.
This motor was initially going to be installed in a 33' Medalist. In that boat, it would have given 4 or 5 hours at 5 knots. Not sure on the P37.
