B&G Wind Instruments on the blink - any easy solutions?

My 1980s era B&G Hydra 330 wind instruments started acting up recently. I checked the connections at the base of the mast and on the mother unit, and also sprayed the connectors at the top of the mast with CRC cleaner. If anything it's acting wackier after doing the latter (it used to only record up to about 20 degrees apparent on either side even if the wind was on the beam or aft; now it goes all over the place).

Are there any other things to check, or is it time to call the technician (which I probably won't do, it's not worth the money)? I'd also consider buying a used replacement part if it were a matter of simply swapping something out.

The apparent wind angle is the only one I really care about; it's handy at night, and is an aid when novices are steering. The depth sounder is of course critical, for that I WOULD spend the dough to fix.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any insight,
Max
