You measuring at the battery or alternator ?

I am thinking you are measuring at the alternator.
To spike to a 100 volt if your battery are connected you would need a lot of amp ( more then the alt could put out )
I am thinking DVM maybe? or How about a loose wire or 3 way switch, it would take very little current to spike to 100 and you will have another bad alternator.
