Took a good scrubbing to remove a thick layer of LA from her decks.
She's now down in San Diego, tucked in safely at home marina. I sent the admiral down to get a slip with some rather hasty instructions ("into the wind") and she performed "admirably" (of course) and got a perfect spot. There were 5 spots available at the marina of choice.
That's also the broker in the picture, not me. Just in case anyone happens to recognize him.
I have to get some pics of me on the boat. I have some... I just didn't download them yet. I did the GPS track last night though. (see below)
Saw some real interesting sights on the way down... none of which were captured on "film." Just too hard to whip the darn things out quickly...
We saw several whales... spouting, breaching and showing tail. Lots of Dolphins. And the coolest thing was a school of baby Sunfish... couldn't believe those... silver colored, about 18 inches "long" and in a small grouping waving one fin at the sky... "they looked so cute..."
I had to come around and check them out... at first all we saw were these floppy fins waving skyward in a little cluster. We came about and circled the group and saw the classic, albeit tiny, sunfish shape and then they all suddenly "fluttered" away. It was hilarious watching them flitter their fins in an effort to get away as they peeled off like little divebombers and headed deep away from the big old nasty noisy boat. There were about 20 or so of them... flashing real shiny silver bellies to the sun.
I have GOT to carry a camera in video mode!
