Does anyone furl their Headsail by going off the wind ...

I don't. Tartan 40, 135 genny, no matter how hard it's blowing. I know that's what most recommend and do ... go down so wind is aft of the beam, let the Mainsheet out some and so possibly the headsail is blanketed by the Main. But I find it's much easier to quickly turn to weather and furl it in fast, we'll have it in 10 secs or less, it doesn't flog much or at all if we do it fast ... I find this easier, quicker and the sail furls / wraps much tighter & neater around the headstay this way.

Am I missing something ?

Cheers, John
