I have an Aquapro RIB with an aluminum hull
In Response To: aluminum floors ()

I assume that is what you mean? Of perhaps you are talking about an inflatable with an aluminum stiffened fabric floor?

The aluminum hulled RIB has been good. Lighter than a glass hull and probably more damage resistant. Since is it aluminum I went ahead and welded a keel doubler on it and a raised sole inside to keep my feet out of the water.

I rode down the coast in Hawaii once in a larger inflatable boat with an aluminum stiffened fabric floor. The floor was made of interlocking extrusions. It crackled like popcorn as we went through the chop, the extrusions grating against each other. Disconcerting but the owner said it had been doing that for many years so maybe a non-issue other than the noise.
