We totally destroyed the teak palace interior of my Vagabond 42, ground out the glass and pulled four of the main mast chain plates. They looked like the day they went in. Still bright and shiny! Since they were out I had a company that does turbine inspections for the petro chem industry magaflux inspect them and they all came back with a clean bill of health. No cracking, no corrosion, no loss of integrity. So we polished them up, got new bolts and put them back in. (Damned expensive inspection)!
Yesterday the two new tanks went in (old stainless water tanks were corroded and leaking). Pulled two 50 gal water and coming back with one 50 gal water and one additional 50 gal for fuel. (Boat has a watermaker).
Carpenters are putting main salon and cabin sole back together. Boat gets hauled next week for exterior re gel coating and repower. This will be the second time I have repowered this boat. Put a new Yanmar in her 14 years ago, time for a new one.
I have a date with the Dockwise ship out of Ft Lauderdale in February for a ride back to the islands. Callisto has lived in St Martin for most of the past 10 years. I sailed her down from Texas last time, took me four weeks. Four days to St Thomas sounds pretty nice!
