The timeline was something like Bayliner (the powerboat people) starting making sailboats. That lineup were called Bucaneers. They were kind of randomly based on a powerboat hull with hard chines and serious freeboard, the larger ones look a lot like Morgan O/I's. Boxy looking. Then Bayliner was bought by Brunswick corp. and somewhere along the way they bought up molds for a couple of nice looking sailboat designs. Then the decision was made to get out of the sailboat business so that whole lot was bought up by.......someone I forget, renamed US Yachts and a few more boat molds were purchased and added to the line, up to I believe a 41' motor sailor? They didn't actually have an in house design staff, they kind of picked up things along the way that were IMHO, mostly pretty nice looking. Also as I recall, there were not a whole bunch of US Yachts built, although there were a crap load of Bayliner Buccaneers. The larger the boat the fewer were made............now I'm getting hazy. Hope this helps:)
