I put a Sealand sanipump on our previous boat

It worked well for 6 years before we sold the boat. Our current boat has the more standard type with a rubber impeller. It's held up OK for 10 years. When pumping I listen to the pump and you can hear when it runs dry. The motor speeds up and surges as it starts to suck air. I can hear it from the main panel but could put a switch near the pump if necessary.
