The PO apparently decided to keep the Lifesling but left us the paperwork telling us all about it. Soooo, I need to add a throwable device to the pushpit. In the past we have always had a horseshoe bouy to which I add 100' of floating yellow poly (which gets inspected yearly and replaced as needed), a whistle and a strobe. I have no experience with a Lifesling, a quick look around the club and it appears that about 30% of the other sailboats have lifeslings, the rest have horseshoes.
In my head I'm thinking that unless you also have the lifting tackle for the lifsling, there is no real advantage to it. True?
