Just kidding, dear. (grin) Sorry couldn't resist the implications of that question.

Read again Al -- "one strand every inch for 12 inches".

The recommendations I've read for Amsteel and Dynex Dux is 72 times the rope diameter. So for a 3/16" rope that's about 13 inches. For 7/16" that's about 3 feet.
