Use an old scrap rag of polyester/dacron fabric, etc. (like that knitted old double knit suit thats still in your closet from the 70s). Lemon Juice/Citric will 'wick' into the polyester fibers and prevent 'dripping'. If you want to long term soak just cover the wetted polyester with 'saran'. Corn starch would also work, and can be covered with 'saran' to prevent drying out.
