This sounds like whining.

The chart he points out is certainly an excellent chart for its purpose, navigation. Older charts also had many items charted slightly differently than known reality to make them stand out better on the printed chart, such as a rock shown further toward a channel than it really was. The newer e-charts are for the most part well aligned to GPS datum. The chartplotter is a great aid, an aid only, not virtual sailing. When you get as close to an area as the issue in this chart shows, it is time to use the eyeballs --- and if its foggy, it is time to stand further clear.
