I'm surprised at the video. One would of thought there would be a lot more complaints out there if this normally occurs. I'm assuming that's a capacitive screen. Does anyone know if all the Garmin touchscreens are alike?
This is one of the reasons I've been considering the Raymarine E wide screen as my next unit. I like the concept of touch, but I've always been concerned (although several people on this board say it's not an issue) that it would be difficult to navigate the map, press navaids, etc. on a touchscreen in really bumpy seas or in heavy winds where you need to grip the wheel hard. I like the hybrid touch concept of the E series - touch when you want it, hard keys the rest of the time. You can fully navigate the entire unit using either touch or hard keys. This seems like a really nice combo. I just wish Raymarine would get C-Map charts going. I believe that was part of the original announcement of the "new" E series, but now there's no info on the Raymarine site about it. Garmin still kicks butt over Raymarine for the Bahamas with their Explorer Charts integration. Navionics on Raymarine doesn't even come close.
