Cruising Sailors Forum Archive

Denny and I were at the Del Ray Yacht Club two years ago

when we brought the boat back up from Mexico for the summer and had drinks with them on the other boat they own. As I recall, they cruise the sailboat and they live the off season on their powerboat which is slipped at the Del Ray YC. We had a very enjoyable evening with them and talked quite a bit about cruising. We felt like real pikers when we stacked up where we had been with where they had been. They are a class act and I sure hope they come through this OK. This kind of stuff will continue until someone puts an end to it. "From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" refers to the US Marines fighting all the way to Mexico City in the Mexican American war and to the Capital of what is today's Libya to put down pirates that were harassing American shipping back then. We did it then and I think it's time we do it again.
