FYI, just got the below note.(nl)I plan to attend, any one else?
Greg
Nor'Sea Owners, Dreamers, Wannabees, Aficianados, and nautical curiosity seekers all!
The planning progresses for the Sail-In set for April 30 & May 1st in the Guest Slips of the Dana Point Marina. We now have commitments from four owners who will bring their boats in by water. Another five owners or potentials have signed on to attend. More will be forthcoming.
The following data is offered again with a few updates to help you with your participation:
1. For those planning on sailing in, please contact James Douglas at the Dana Point Marina Company concerning a Guest Slip reservation. Reach him by phone at (949) 496-6137 or james@danapointmarina.com. The guest dock is limited to ten 30' slips at $30 a night/slip. Power, water, lovely bath/shower/laundry facilities, and a fresh water swimming pool are all included in that price. Limited free parking is near the entry to the slips and more quite nearby. Reservations may be made up to 6 months in advance. May is the start of the high season; it might be best to reserve early to have space available.
2. Reasonable lodging near the Dana Point Marina for those wishing it may be found at http://www.danapointmarinainn.com/ and through the other usual suspects such as Tripadvisor.com.
3. There is a wealth of good, better and best dining options at sea level near the marina and up on top in Dana Point proper.
4. Any "Program" for an evening or a brunch is still under discussion and we would very much like content suggestions from those who might have attended similar events. Anything and everything will be considered: venue, timing, visuas, speakers, and more. Please chime in.
Do share this with any other sailing friends you may wish to have attend.
We thank you for your continued interest and are sincerely looking forward to meeting everyone in person in lovely Dana Point.
Fair Winds!
