I really don't notice any topside issues but it probably wouldn't show much on Rita P. The tarp extends below the waterline on Rita P but I have it on Imagine, the 34 this year so it doesn't reach as far, we'll see how it looks come spring. I suspect a nice awlgrop job might not like it. I have an option to purchase a Faircloth that was made for my 34 from a previous owner for $400 but I'm not that interested. It's convenient to use the mast as a ridgepole and I don't know if the canvas will fit that. And I REALLY like the light through the clear tarp.
The uprights attach as shown in the picture (standing on the boat looking overboard), keeping the tarp off the rubrail. I wrap the bottom of each upright at these joints with foam sill seal. The sides are just tied under the boat to the other side but the lines lead under the chains or keel. We don't get an awful lot of wind at our house, we're in the trees.
Nice blue streaky Pearson deck there, huh?
This is the first year with the tie attachments above the waterline.
