Berserk's liferaft found.... things don't look good for any survivors (that were on the vessel)
In Response To: Berserk in trouble? ()

Here are two articles written in succession. Berserk's life raft was found, in a battered and icy condition, with no crew aboard. It's now presumed that the three crew that were aboard have been lost (the captain and one other crew were off the vessel exploring and have been located alive and okay).

Although it's great that the captain and the one crew are alive because they were not aboard at the time, I can't imagine how the captain must feel, wondering what happened to his vessel, thinking about his crew... poor guy

(BTW, I don't mean to pop in and be the voice of gloom here. I just happened to run across the first news of Berserk's EPIRB having gone off on a completely unrelated, non-sailing site. And I remembered them from their other Berserks, Albin Vegas, that they took on long voyages and made DVD(s) of. Well of course I got interested in the evolving story, wondering what had happened. Also, I remembered Berserk/DVD's being mentioned here a few times over the years, and plus I figured that many CSBB readers would be interested in a fellow cruising boat, so I decided to post it, and keep the thread updated. [Then realizing that since I rarely post it might come across like I'm sort of an "ambulance chaser"].)
