If you decide to splice your own this probably isn't the best application to learn on, if you haven't done your homework on how to splice Dyneema. It's not that difficult to do, but because it's slippery -- Most important is the 72x diameter bury, and a gradual taper inside so you don't create a stress riser. In this application I would definitely use a lock-stitch too, and it might be wise to use Dyneema thread for the lock-stitch.
