The purse syndrome verses the tool box syndrome...
In Response To: I don't have a cell phone. ()

My wife and I go through this all the time... she puts things away where ever she has last used that item... under the belief that she will need it again right there. The kitchen is in a constant state of flux... the "knife drawer" changed three times. Of course the purse syndrome is that everything goes into the purse... and can be found eventually. I refuse to search her purse for anything. When I am told "it's in my purse" I go find the purse and then hand it to her.

The tool box syndrome of course is the everything has its place and should be returned to it. I can look into my big toolbox and instantly tell if a wrench or socket is missing. Of course truth be told, if it's missing, it's probably been left where I was working last.
