It's usually not the "trouble" but the cost...

Around here we have chemical and plating processors too, but to get one small item done can be expensive... unless someone else is getting a bigger batch done and the plating co is willing to throw yours in with it.

I used to have to get anodizing and chem finishes on stuff made by my company... of course we were doing larger quantities and the bill got passed on to the end customer... but in the end Dan y may be right.

Of course if you can't get a new one... what else are you gonna do?
